International Clinical Trials Operations Manager

Band 8b, £51,471 - £62,162 pa inc.

The European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) is seeking a International Clinical Trials Operations Manager for its office in London. The EBMT is a European organization which counts with more than 500 member centres performing over 30,000 heamatopoetic stem cell transplants per annum. A few years ago the EBMT established a Clinical Trials Programme, employing trials staff in London and Leiden to implement and run multi-national clinical trials. The EBMT Clinical Trials Office (CTO) in London is within the Managed Networks/Haematology Department at GSTT.

You will oversee the reorganisation of the EBMT Clinical Trials Programme to optimise resources and procedures for the conduct and sponsorship of current and future international clinical trials (Phase II – IV). Trials are run in an academic setting, across multiple indications, in accordance with the EU Directive and EBMT Clinical Trials Policy. Some of the responsibilities include: strategic planning in coordination with the Executive Director and the Clinical Trials Chair, management of the Trials Portfolio and Team, negotiations with Industry partners, EBMT representation and provision of expertise and advice to Investigators and Committees.

You should have a postgraduate or similar degree in a relevant discipline with proven expertise in international clinical trials management, development and management of trial and departmental budgets, the ability to successfully lead a team, and experience in negotiating, reviewing and managing contracts and agreements. You should have excellent skills in communication, negotiation and leadership, knowledge of Pharmacovigilance and EU regulatory requirements, ability to multi-task and to work on own initiative, excellent analytical capacity and familiarity with clinical trial databases. Excellent spoken and written English is essential and competence in other European languages is desirable. You must be willing to travel internationally. The position is for 2 years fixed term with possibility of extension.
